This is great news. The HSE have stop plans to change the current entitlements for cancer patients and survivors who need items like wigs and post op products like mastectomy bra. Thank you Joyce O’Carroll for the update.
Update……HSE National Policy for Wigs/Post Mastectomy Products
I received an email from the HSE regarding my concerns for people with Permanent and Temporary Hairloss and to get clarity on this matter .This is what I received
” I can confirm that the guidelines on the post mastectomy products and wigs/hairpieces have been Withdrawn and the Expert Group has been recalled to give further consideration to this issue.
This means that each area will continue to operate the exis…ting local guidelines in place for the provision of these products.
The Expert Group is currently conducting further consultation with the various stakeholders involved including patients and supplies”
